Sofia Nuño

Sofia Nuño is a litigator whose practice is grounded in careful preparation, strategic thinking, and a deep sense of responsibility to the clients she represents.

Before co-founding Ledezma Nuño Law, Sofia practiced at Mintz, one of Boston’s leading Am Law 100 firms, where she represented Fortune 500 companies, insurers, and other sophisticated businesses and institutions in complex litigation, class actions, government investigations, and high-stakes disputes. Her experience spans commercial litigation, consumer and privacy class actions, securities matters, insurance disputes, white-collar and government investigations, and other complex civil matters.

That experience gave Sofia an inside view of how sophisticated companies and their counsel evaluate litigation: how they identify risk, develop defenses, assess leverage, and prepare cases for dispositive motions, settlement, or trial. Today, she brings that same level of preparation and strategic analysis to the individuals and businesses she represents at Ledezma Nuño Law.

Sofia is particularly drawn to difficult legal problems. She believes strong advocacy begins with understanding a matter in detail—learning the facts, mastering the applicable law, anticipating the other side’s arguments, and developing a strategy before those arguments become problems. She approaches each matter with the understanding that, although lawyers handle many cases during their careers, a client’s legal problem may be one of the most consequential events in that client’s life or business.

Her commitment to advocacy has also extended beyond private practice. During law school, Sofia worked in prosecutorial and judicial settings, including the White Collar Division of the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, and the federal courts. She also helped draft legislation in support of human-trafficking survivors for the Massachusetts Legislature and testified in support of those measures.

Sofia graduated as valedictorian of her law school class and has continued to be recognized for her work. She was named a Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2024 and 2025 and a Women of Influence: Attorneys honoree by the Los Angeles Business Journal in 2026. Her legal writing and commentary have also appeared in publications including Bloomberg Law and Corporate Counsel.

After leaving Big Law, Sofia briefly practiced at a boutique litigation firm in Los Angeles with one of her longtime mentors before returning to build Ledezma Nuño Law with Ramon Ledezma.

Sofia’s approach to practicing law is shaped in part by the path that brought her to the profession. Growing up in Nogales, Arizona, she did not come from a family or community with an established roadmap into the legal profession. That experience gave her an enduring appreciation for what effective advocacy can mean when someone is confronting a system, institution, or opponent with greater resources or familiarity with the process.

For Sofia, being a lawyer means more than understanding the law. It means giving clients a capable advocate who takes their problem seriously, tells them the truth, prepares thoroughly, and is willing to do the work necessary to put them in the strongest position possible.

Sofia also has a longstanding interest in public-interest and pro bono advocacy, including work affecting migrant communities and other individuals who may have difficulty navigating legal systems without effective representation.

Outside the practice of law, Sofia has a longstanding interest in businesses, investing, emerging technology, and the ways new technologies—including artificial intelligence—can improve how sophisticated professional work is performed.
